Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, a global sustainable chemical company, reported that a fire at a production plant in Spain on  January 1, 2023. The blaze was contained quickly, with minor disruptions to operations as the company assesses repairs.

The incident occurred at about 10 a.m. local time at Indorama’s PTA plant in Guadarranque-San Roque, Cadiz. The fire was brought under control and resulted in no health or environmental impacts to employees or the community.

IVL is pleased that the efficient response of its experienced on-site team and local emergency services quickly contained the incident. Some operations were temporarily halted as a preventive measure to ensure safety. The company expects to complete safety protocols within a week and start unit operations of PET, PIA and PTA sequentially, reaching full operations within January.
